Depending upon where you live, fresh fruit can be very seasonal. If you live in a warm tropical climate like Florida, Texas or California, you probably can acquire fresh fruit (locally grown) year round. But, if you live in Montana, Michigan, or Massachusetts, you may have difficulties finding locally grown organic fresh food during some parts of the year. In these instances, just do your best to locate fresh fruit that you enjoy.
There are more and more local Farmers Markets springing up all over. Check them out on the web. You know the produce is fresh and most of it is organically, locally grown. Also, this helps your local economy and your local farmers - A WIN, WIN SITUATION!
Another option is national markets that specialize in selling many fresh organic fruits and vegetable (plus other products) like Trader Joe’s. Also, I find many of our regional grocery store chains are beginning to carry a larger supply of organic products. A word to the wise: READ THE LABEL CAREFULLY! If it doesn’t say ORGANIC, it ISN’T!!

Few things in life are better than biting into a freshly picked strawberry or taking a big bite out of a watermelon. Fresh fruits are delicious to eat and nutritious for your body. They are very rich in vitamins, especially A and C, plus folate and other important nutrients. There are dozens of fruits, but I will list 25 of the most popular below in alphabetical order!
APPLE - contain antioxidants known as flavonoids, which can deter diabetes and asthma. They are a natural mouth freshener and help clean your teeth. The apple flavor and aroma comes from fragrance cells located in the skin, so I would suggest not peeling. Also the vitamins are located just beneath the skin.
The age old adage: “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Apples are one of the oldest, most nutritious foods on earth. They are rich in potassium, a mineral many of us are deficient in, and a deficiency that may cause old age to creep upon us sooner. Calcium maintains our hard tissues such as bones, and potassium is the equivalent to the body’s soft tissues, keeping the body flesh and arteries soft and resilient.
Apple cider vinegar - has many health related uses, from salad dressing to skin toning to cleaning windows. This product is amazing and healthy, and is said to dissolve kidney stones.

AVOCADO - contain monounsaturated fats that can help lower cholesterol when eaten instead of saturated fats. For a heart healthy switch, try avocado on your sandwich instead of butter.
Babies love avocado, it’s soft and easy to eat and the good nutritional value will help with their growth and development.

BANANAS - have a huge amount of potassium, more than most other fruits, and may help to lower blood pressure levels.
People with rubber latex allergies may also be allergic to bananas because they both come from similar trees and share a common protein.

BLACKBERRY - get their dark purple color from a strong antioxidant (anthocyanin) which may help fight stroke and cancer.
